Incredible moose! Randy Newberg’s trip to British Columbia was quite the success, and this moose was certainly a highlight.
From Randy Newberg:
“In episode 6 of 2019 British Columbia Caribou and Moose, Randy Newberg is breaking one of his vows to not hunt and film in the rain. Deciding to leave his trekking poles at camp, he says that will mean he shoots a big moose in a place they can’t get the horses.
Mid-morning the guide, James, does spot a mature bull across the valley. They waste no time in starting the trek from their glassing knob across the tundra to get within shooting range. After cutting the distance, James does some calling hoping to pull the moose out of the brush to get a clear shot.
They decide to closer and Randy sets up for a shot. Before being able to pull the trigger, the bull does a 180 and heads back into the thick timber. Again, they have to cut the distance and hike down and are able to get within range. If all goes well, Randy hopes to be able to notch his tag on this beautiful bull moose.”
