Sparta, Wisconsin – The all new 2020 VXR is the most stable, stealthy hunting bow Mathews has ever built. Featuring a new, extended six-bridge riser, the VXR shoots like a target bow, while maintaining the maneuverability of a compact hunting rig.
“After watching our shooters dominate the tournament scene the last couple years, we decided to apply the same extended bridged riser design to our hunting line,” explained Owner and CEO Matt McPherson. “By changing the geometry of the whole bow, we’re able to make the riser longer, while keeping it relatively compact. We’re offering it in both 28” and 31.5” ATA to meet the needs of two styles of hunters, but I must say that the axle-to-axle lengths do not correlate to the added stability these bows give at full draw.”
Both the VXR 28 and VXR 31.5 are powered by the award-winning, highly efficient and extremely accurate Crosscentric Cam system, producing speeds up to 344 fps. Its SwitchWeight Technology allows shooters to change peak draw length and draw weight in 5 pound increments via the cam’s module instead of changing limbs. Available in 60, 65, 70 and 75 pound peak weights, each set of mods are programmed for an incredibly smooth draw and maximum efficiency. Mods are available in 80% or 85% let-off for further customization.
Stealth remains a top priority on the new VXR. The new riser platform also increased cam efficiencies and enhanced the effects of 3D Damping for less noise and vibration than ever before. Another stealth feature for 2020 is the option to add the new Silent Connect System (SCS). This optional kit enables hunters to attach Mathews’ new bow rope and bow sling in the field quickly and silently and is available in stores and online. The 2020 VXR is built SCS compatible with two threaded attachment points on the limb cup.
The VXR also features the Engage™ Grip interface, designed to ensure consistent hand placement, reducing torque and increasing accuracy. Its ergonomic design is comfortable for all shooters regardless of hand size. This unique interface is also compatible with our Engage Grip Side Plates.
The dovetail mounting system was designed to attach the UltraRest Integrate MX™ by QAD. This compact, micro-adjust rest allows for quick and easy setup while providing precision tuning both horizontally and vertically.
