Hunting Gear Review: The ULTRA Merino 210 Gloves from KUIU

It can be surprisingly challenging to find a good pair of early-season or mild/warm weather hunting gloves. I found this to be especially the case when hunting mule deer in August and September in California when I wanted my hands covered from the sun and mosquitos and for camo on my hands, but I also didn’t want to roast more than I already was.

Maybe it’s the fact that KUIU is located in an area that has some pretty intense summer heat that I thought they might have a good solution to the need for gloves in warmer conditions. In fact, I would drive by their California HQ en route to hunt in the Sierras. And as expected, the KUIU ULTRA Merino 210 Gloves do in fact perfectly address the needs I have as an early season bowhunting in hot, desert climates.

These gloves are impressively lightweight and breathable and have moisture wicking materials that make wearing gloves in the heat bearable and wearing gloves in mild climates comfortable.

A particularly nice feature is the grippy material on the palm and fingers, especially for bowhunting.

The KUIU ULTRA Merino 210 Gloves come in sizes M through XXL and in Verde, Vias, Valo, and Charcoal.
