Hunting Gear Review: The StrongFleece 220 Gloves from KUIU

For hunters looking for a good early-to-mid-season hunting glove or a glove that can serve as a first layer throughout the season, the KUIU StrongFleece 220 Gloves are highly recommended. We got ahold of these gloves in advance of archery elk and deer seasons in Montana last year, and these gloves are perfect for much of the season. Let’s break down the pros and cons:

Pros

  1. Lightweight
-Generally when I hunt, the gloves come on and off throughout the day. If hiking gets hard, they might come off. If I am glassing, they are probably on. This means they either go in the pack or a pocket. These gloves are light and not bulky. This makes them ideal in these situations.
  2. Breathable
-Breathability is vital, and these gloves are very breathable.
  3. Moisture Wicking
-These gloves aren’t waterproof, but they can repel some water.
  4. Quiet
-Early season hunts often mean that it’s an archery or muzzleloader season. Quiet is key.
  5. Grip
-The dot printing on the palms allows for a good grip. Also, the thumb and index finger use a different material at the tip for cell phone use. (Great for apps like onX.)

Cons

  1. Not Waterproof
-Sometimes you can’t have it all. However, if these gloves were waterproof, we would probably lose some of the things we like about these gloves.

These gloves come in sizes S through XXL. They come in Ash, Gunmetal, Verde, Vias, and Valo.
