Muzzy Expands Trocar Hybrid Broadhead Line with a New 125-Grain HBX

Muzzy Trocar

SUPERIOR, Wis. (Oct. 3, 2017) — Due to customer demand, the popular Trocar HBX hybrid crossbow broadhead that blends the most lethal and accurate fixed-blade broadhead with a pair of center-pivot blades that deploy on contact for massive cuts on large animals is now available in a 125-grain.
Like the 100-grain, the new 125-grain Trocar HBX features 0.35-inch-thick surgically sharp stainless steel mechanical blades that remain tucked in tight to the solid-steel ferrule during flight, but they deploy on impact for a total cutting diameter of 2 5/8 inches on impact. For added accuracy and stability, the 0.35-inch thick fixed blades are slightly offset. The new heavier Trocar HBX also features the popular Muzzy bone-crushing chisel tip.

Rocky Mountain Introduces Warhead Broadheads for Compound Bows and Crossbows

unnamed
SUPERIOR, Wis. (April 13, 2017) — A well-known name in the archery broadhead market, Rocky Mountain debuted its new product line at the ATA in Indianapolis this year. As part of the new line up, Rocky Mountain introduced the new Warhead, 100-grain 2-blade cut-on-contact mechanical broadhead with wing blades for superior hide penetration and bone breakage. Once inside the animal, the wing blades of the Warhead force open two larger blades providing deep penetration and massive wounds.

The Rocky Mountain Warhead features an aluminum ferrule with a 1.75-inch cutting diameter and a cut-on-contact tip blade design that starts working the instant it makes contact. The Warhead’s jackknife blade-deployment system will not open until the blades have made full contact with the animal, making broadside and even angled shots more deadly. With its aluminum ferrule and durable 0.035-inch-thick stainless steel blades, the new Rocky Mountain Warhead slices through hide and soft tissue on contact, yet it has the strength and sharpness to bust through bone.

Available in standard 100-grain the Warhead is easily identified by its black ferrule. An anodized orange ferrule identifies the 100-grain WarheadX version for crossbows. The new Rocky Mountain Warhead and WarheadX are available at retailers nationwide and conveniently online at www.huntrockymountain.com. Suggested retail price is $19.99 for a three-pack.

Headquartered in Superior, Wis., Rocky Mountain is a wholly owned subsidiary of FeraDyne Outdoors. For more information on Rocky Mountain, visit www.huntrockymountain.com; or write to 101 Main Street, Superior, WI 54880; or call 866-387-9307.

Rage Improves on Perfection with the New Hypodermic Trypan

rage-hypodermic-trypan

SUPERIOR, Wis. (Feb. 28, 2017) — How does a company improve upon a design that has proven as wildly successful and immensely popular as the Rage Hypodermic? Rage engineers answered that question with a new broadhead that boasts ridiculous strength, huge slap-cuts on entry and a sweptback blade angle for unprecedented penetration, and they named it the Trypan.

Trypanophobia is the fear of needles, and the new 100-gr. Hypodermic Trypan is just about the scariest broadhead Rage has ever introduced to the hunting woods. With its needle-like, streamlined titanium ferrule and 2-inch cutting diameter, the Trypan creates a slap-cut entry hole well in excess of 2.5 inches. Afterward, the Trypan’s .039-inch-thick razor-sharp stainless steel blades settle into a sweptback blade-angle configuration. Even though the blades are monstrous once deployed, they create only a 3/4-diameter in-flight profile.

The grey polymer Trypan-specific Shock Collar™ provides exceptional blade retention and consistently reliable blade deployment. The one time use Shock Collars are indexed to notches in the Trypan’s titanium ferrule, so they never can be put on incorrectly.

The new Rage Hypodermic Trypan comes in a three-pack with a practice tip, and it is available at retailers nationwide and conveniently online at www.ragebroadheads.com with a suggested retail price of $54.99.

From Rocky Mountain:

SUPERIOR, Wis. (Feb. 22, 2017) — The new Advantage broadhead is Rocky Mountain brand’s first broadhead to hit the market after a long hiatus. The Advantage is a 100-grain, 4-blade, cut-on-contact head that features a short profile with superior flight characteristics and maximum accuracy, even at the high speeds of today’s bows. With less surface area, flight is significantly enhanced on the new Rocky Mountain Advantage broadhead.

The new Rocky Mountain Advantage broadhead has superior penetrative capabilities with the main stainless steel blades measuring .040-inch thick, and the bleeder blades are .036-inch thick. The cutting diameter of the Advantage head is 1 1/8 by 1 inch and has the sharpness to blow through bone. While the main blade will cut straight through thick hide and bone, the bleeder blades on this Rocky Mountain head creates an extra wide wound channel for maximum blood loss.

If you are looking for a broadhead with exceptional accuracy, true bone-crushing penetration, leading blades that are easy to re-sharpen and are affordable, the new Rocky Mountain Advantage is the broadhead for you. Available at retailers nationwide and conveniently online at www.huntrockymountain.com, this new broadhead has a suggested retail of $24.99 for a three-pack.

The New Trocar Switch is Muzzy’s First Adjustable-Cutting-Diameter Broadhead

Muzzy Trocar Broadhead

From Muzzy:

SUPERIOR, Wis. (May 16, 2016) — Muzzy Outdoors, the makers of the world’s number-one selling fixed-blade broadhead, introduced the Trocar broadhead three years ago, and with its field-point-like accuracy and unbelievably lethal performance on game, the Trocar quickly became one of the company’s hottest selling and most successful broadhead designs. This year, Muzzy has created a new addition to the Trocar lineup with the introduction of the company’s first adjustable-cutting-diameter broadhead, the Trocar Switch.

The Trocar Switch features three razor-sharp 0.035-inch-thick blades that can be quickly and easily positioned in one of three settings for a 1-inch, 1 1/8-inch or 1 1/4-inch cutting diameter. The three configurations provide the hunter with extreme flexibility to customize the broadhead to the hunt or to the most-accurate bow setup. Where a bowhunter might choose the 1 1/4-inch blade placement for shorter shots in thick brush, the hunter may choose the 1-inch placement for increased accuracy, stability and penetration at shooting distances nearing 100 yards or when hunting large-bodied game animals.

The blades are set at a 2-degree right offset in the stainless steel Trocar ferrule, and each one is affixed by a steel shoulder screw with a steel blade-position collar keeping the blades locked into one of three positions. To change the cutting diameter of the Trocar Switch, simply loosen the broadhead on the arrow a few turns, slide down the blade collar, position each blade on the notch for the desired cut, and twist the broadhead tight to the arrow.

The new 100-grain Trocar Switch joins the other four models in the Trocar line: the standard 100-grain Trocar, the Deep SixÔ 100-grain Trocar, the 100-grain Crossbow Trocar and the 125-grain Crossbow Trocar.

The Trocar Switch is available at retailers nationwide and conveniently online at www.muzzy.com with a suggested retail price of $39.99 for a three-pack.
