I’m not kidding — I have a headlamp with me almost everywhere I go. And if one isn’t on me, there’s always one in the glovebox of the truck. Yet despite my loyalty to headlamps, I realized recently that headlamps aren’t the solution to all things. After all, a headlamp only shines light on what you are facing. This limitation brings in the need for lamps and lanterns.
I recently picked up a Black Diamond ReMoji Lantern and couldn’t be more pleased with this little lantern. This mini-lamp weighs (not literally) next to nothing and has become (not literally) a permanent light fixture in my tent.

It seems that the bulk of the weight of this lantern comes from the three AAA batteries that power it. That said, it’s ideal for backcountry hunting and for hunters who are always looking for ways to eliminate weight while also packing as little as possible.
The Black Diamond ReMoji Lantern is great for lighting up a tent and ought to easily hang from the tent ceiling. This lantern uses 6 LEDs and can go for 10 hours at its maximum setting. The adjustable brightness uses 100 lumens. A highly recommended lantern from Black Diamond!
