A successful New Mexico public land hunt with Randy Newberg!
From Newberg:
“Randy Newberg and Corey Jacobsen are in western New Mexico archery hunting elk in late September. This public land hunt takes place during a full moon phase, putting Corey’s World Champion calling skills to the test.
Two days remain in the hunt. It is a coin toss as to whether we hunt the timber with the other hunters or if we head to the grasslands and have it all to ourselves.
Corey agrees to Randy’s one day at the grasslands and the final day in the timber. It doesn’t take long on this windy morning for some elk to show themselves and bed in what little shade exists. Time for the world elk calling champion to go into spot and stalk mode.
Five long miles from the truck, Corey culminates the hunt with a four-hour stalk that took amazing stealth and even more determination. By the time the bull is retrieved, the guys get to camp in the wee morning hours, providing a fitting end to a grueling and memorable hunt.
This is the longer day-by-day version of the hunt, showing many parts and information that get cut to meet the abbreviated time constraints of TV.
Thanks for watching.”
