Hunting Gear Review: The KUIU Expedition Gloves

The funny thing about a good pair of hunting gloves is that the better they are, the less there is to say about them. Give me a bad pair of gloves, and there will be plenty to say!

We’ve been fortunate to try out a number of different gloves from numerous companies over the years, and not all gloves get a stamp of approval. And there’s no place like the mountains in tough conditions to help you realize pretty quickly which gloves make the cut and which ones don’t.

If you’re looking for a great pair of hunting gloves for cold weather conditions, the KUIU Expedition Gloves are a great choice and are truly unparalleled when it comes to quality. There are several features that stand out to us:

1. Fit

A good anatomical fit is critical for cold weather gear. Hands are especially vulnerable to the cold when there is a loose fit in areas of the gloves, and the thickness of cold weather gloves can compromise function and mobility. These gloves fit great allowing your hands to still be in the game. Additionally, a snug fit around the wrists with a neoprene cuff allows you to get your gloves under your jacket where the two pieces meet.

2. Materials

Stretch material plus Primaloft® insulation and grip materials ensure comfort, warmth, and ability to stay functional. Additionally, the leather palms allow for a good grip. No sloppy grips on rifles, ATV handles, and more.

3. Performance

These gloves simply do everything you need them to do. They keep your hands warm and dry in tough conditions while allowing you to still be able to use your hands without the restrictions that winter gloves often bring. For winter conditions, these are a go-to for us.

The KUIU Expedition Gloves comes in sizes Medium through XXL and cost $119. Their color and camo options are Graphite, Vias, Verde, and Valo.
