A moose and caribou hunt in Alaska continues with the hope of filling a moose tag …
From Randy Newberg:
“In episode 3 of this Alaska hunting adventure, Marcus Hockett and his wife Kara Landolfi transition from chasing caribou to hone in on finding a legal bull moose. Although Marcus drew this limited entry tag, he still surely has his work cut out for him. Beyond being an archery tag, the restrictions on non-residents are that the bull has to be 50” wide or have 4 browtines.
They spent the next few days covering country and using a combination of glassing and calling. While they can see miles and miles of land, moose seem to be in extremely low density because they struggle to even turn up any moose at all.
Marcus and Kara try to maintain a positive attitude although the hunting is surely tough. With any luck, they will be able locate a legal moose and get within archery range for a chance to fill a tag on a public land alaskan moose.”
