An Alaska Sitka blacktail deer hunt with Randy Newberg continues …

“In episode 3 of this Alaska Blacktail deer hunt Jim and Jim are back at it early in the morning, hiking into an area that Baichtal has been in times past. They yet to fill a deer tag, though there have been some good opportunities the past few days. They see fresh buck sign in an open marsh, as well as along the game trails
They continue to climb up to some higher elevation to try calling. It doesn’t take long once they start calling and a doe comes in to their calls, but there isn’t a buck trailing. After some weather comes in, they decide to continue searching different areas.
Time is running out for Jim Heffelfinger to bag a buck before he has to head back to the lower 48. The guys continue to hunt hard, covering ground on and calling. With any luck, Jim will be able to fill his tag on a blacktail deer in the rainforest of southeast Alaska.”
