Video: Bowhunting Mule Deer in Nevada (Ep. 1)

The mountains of Nevada have some of the best mule deer hunting in the country. In a video series from Randy Newberg, a hunter takes on Nevada muleys. This is part one.

From Randy Newberg:

“In episode 1, Marcus Hockett heads down to the high country of Nevada to chase mule deer with a bow. He picked this tag up as a leftover when somebody else turned it back in. He and Michael set out to explore the few units that the tag is good for.

After shooting his bow to make sure he’s still on, they head up high in the truck gaining as much elevation as possible. The key to this hunt will be locating water, so they check out various spring and glass from high perches.

Michael spots a nice four point buck in the evening. They don’t have time to get to him that night so they glass another hillside before dark. Marcus turns up another decent buck. They go to bed with options for the morning, and plan to try and relocate one for the next day’s stalk.”
