Home to great hunting for whitetail deer and mule deer, Montana was the perfect location for a group of hunters to head into the public lands to find deer.
From Randy Newberg:
“In episode 3 of this western deer hunt, Michael Parente and Chris Neville are still in search of bucks on the public lands of Montana. They head up at first light to a glassing spot to overlook some country that borders private land. Right away they are spotting does and small bucks, but aren’t turning up any bigger bucks.
After mid-morning Chris decides to go explore some other areas close by while Michael tries to still-hunt his way towards a herd of whitetail does, hoping there’s a buck close by. By late morning they decide to scratch this area and drive to a whole different chunk of ground. They planned to explore some river bottom land but weren’t able to access it as they’d hoped.
These setbacks work in their favor as it drives them to some brand new country that neither have set foot in before. Quickly upon arriving, Chris spots what seems to be a giant buck a couple miles away. After getting closer and a better look, Chris decides to make a stalk while Michael hangs back and watches from a distance. After a long stalk, Chris is able to sneak in within a couple hundred yards and set his crosshairs on what may just be the biggest buck of his life.”
