Randy Newberg and some friends head for the hills in Montana to hunt deer and elk in part one of a series.
From Randy Newberg:
“Randy Newberg has an elk tag in Montana, that he is trying to fill between other out of state hunts. So he decides to head out for a few days without a cameraman, to try and fill a tag while also self-filming the hunt. He drives as far up a road as he can get with all of the snow, and then hikes into a glassing knob to overlook as much country as possible.
The wind is howling, creating not only hard hunting conditions but also tough conditions for filming. Partway through the day, he finally locates a herd of elk but they are a little ways onto private land. The following day, Bart May and his son join Randy. Due to filming restrictions, they have to split up on a certain chunk of ground.
Randy goes another way to glass for the evening. With any lucky, Randy will be able to find a bull elk to hang his 2020 Montana elk tag on. He is able to find elk, but needs to find one accessible on public land.”
