Video: Bowhunting Mule Deer in Nevada (Ep. 2)

The mountains of Nevada have some of the best mule deer hunting in the country. In a video series from Randy Newberg, a hunter takes on Nevada muleys. This is part two.

From Randy Newberg:

“In this episode of this Nevada archery mule deer hunt, Marcus is up early optimistic to relocate one of the shooter bucks from the night before. He plans to move to a vantage point not far from where he left the buck. On the way in as he sneaks his way through the timber he bumps a couple bull elk.

The bachelor group of bucks unfortunately happens to be near the elk and become high alert as well. Frustrated, Marcus hopes that the deer will calm down and bed rather than being blown out of the area.

Thankfully eventually the bucks do just that. He watches one bed in an area that Marcus thinks is stalkable. He makes a huge loop to get the wind right and come down from above the buck. With any luck he will be able to sneak within bow range.”
